Federico Demaria

Federico Demaria is a researcher in the Department of Environmental Science and Technology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain), with an affiliation at the Centre for Studies in Science Policy, Jawaharlal Nehru University (Delhi, India). He works in ecological economics and political ecology and is currently exploring the concept of “accumulation by contamination.” He is part of EJOLT, a global research project bringing science and society together to catalogue and analyze ecological distribution conflicts and confront environmental injustice. He is a founding member of the Collective Research & Degrowth, an academic association dedicated to research and training around degrowth. He is a promoter of the International Conferences on Degrowth and the co-editor of Degrowth: A Vocabulary for a New Era (2014).
