John Ehrenfeld
John Ehrenfeld retired in 2009 as Executive Director of the International Society for Industrial Ecology after guiding its development since its founding in 2000. After a long career in the environmental field, he became a professor in 1985 and retired in 2000 as Director of the MIT Program on Technology, Business, and Environment. He currently serves on the adjunct faculty at the Marlboro College Graduate Center, where he teaches "Exploring Sustainability" to students in their MBA for Managing Sustainability program. He is the editor of the Journal of Industrial Ecology and has authored or co-authored over 200 papers, books, reports, and other publications, most notably Sustainability by Design: A Subversive Strategy for Transforming our Consumer Culture. He holds a BS and ScD in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
